Learn more about Carrstone Renewables
Proposals are being drawn up for a new zero-carbon biomethane plant near East Winch, which will provide sustainable energy and support the local rural economy.
Carrstone Renewables Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Future Biogas Limited, who are a leading UK producer of biomethane, owning and operating facilities across the country.
Biomethane is a clean alternative to North Sea and imported fossil fuel gas. It is generated using bioenergy crops from local farmers, which are grown sustainably as part of crop rotations that also produce food. Unlike some other operators, we do not process food or animal waste of any kind.
All our sites run an application-based local community funding scheme which support projects such as air ambulances, sporting and play equipment, biodiversity initiatives and village halls.
The proposed site for our planned Carrstone Renewables facility is next to the Middleton Aggregates quarry, south of the A47 off East Winch Road.
This has been identified as a suitable location as it benefits from a national gas network connection, local growing opportunities for bioenergy crops, and a variety of other factors.
We are holding a drop-in exhibition for the community on Friday, 14th March at
East Winch Village Hall (PE32 1NR), from 1pm to 7pm.
